We pride ourselves in our relationship with our tenants — and as always, we try our best to keep the lines of communication open.
As you may recall we immediately offered a partial rent deferral option program for those tenants with financial need caused by the pandemic. That was before any government mandates or other programs because we believed it was the right thing to do. We also asked tenants who did not need the deferral to not take it, so our family-owned business could manage to extend the program availability to all.
We were right to put trust in our tenants. The majority did not take the deferral. Those that did had a chance to make arrangements and obtain government loans and grants so they could start paying back the deferral in September.
As a company we also wanted to reach out to the first responders and medical workers that are taking care of our tenants, their families, employees and customers. Working with one of our tenants, we donated thousands of dollars in meals to those workers serving us all.
As a fourth-generation owner/manager, I want to assure you that we are here for the long term. We appreciate each of our tenants and we appreciate the team spirit they have shown in addressing the impacts of the virus.
If there are any tenants that took advantage of the deferral program but feel they cannot commence repayment in September, please reach out to our team at (650) 595-8452 so that we can privately and proactively address each situation that may arise.
We look forward to better times in business and in health and we have faith that day is coming. Until it does, we are here to respond to your concerns.
I extend our family’s wishes of good health and healing to you, your family, employees and friends.
